Is the treatment painful?
Lymphatic drainage should not be. It is light, rhythmic pressure rather than deep tissue work. Wood therapy, which only comes after a year, is more intense; the intensity is stated before the session and adjusted during it.
A session can be stopped at any point, on request.
When can treatment begin after surgery?
Once the surgeon has given clearance. That timing is the surgeon's alone.
Published protocols generally place the first session 24 to 72 hours after surgery. The Recovery page places the stage from the date of the operation.
How many sessions are needed?
Most often between 8 and 12 sessions over six to eight weeks, depending on the surgery, the body and when care begins.
The plan is set at the first session and adjusted along the way.
What is the rate?
From $175 a session, plus tax. The exact amount depends on distance and is confirmed at booking.
A deposit from $75 confirms the time slot and applies in full against the price of the session. The balance is settled on the day, in cash or by Interac transfer.
Is an insurance receipt issued?
Yes, for massage therapy and lymphatic drainage, under the RMPQ membership number.
Wood therapy and light therapy do not fall under massage therapy and therefore give no right to a receipt.
Coverage varies from one plan to another. Checking with the insurer before the first session is recommended.
What happens if a complication arises?
It is reported on the spot, with instructions to contact the surgeon.
Body Dream Massage does not manage complications, provides no wound care and touches no dressings. This is the scope of massage therapy practice.
Does surgery performed abroad change anything?
Post-operative follow-up is generally not organised on return, which makes resuming care here more important.
Surgical documents are requested when available. Situations calling for medical attention are flagged clearly.
What should be prepared before the session?
A clear space about two metres by two, a power outlet, towels, water and a clean compression garment. Shower beforehand and remove jewellery. The table, linens and equipment are provided.
Allow about 30 minutes beyond the treatment time for setup and packing up.
How is a booking made?
By text or by phone. There is no online calendar: the type of surgery and the date of the operation are enough to agree on a slot.
Once the slot is agreed, the deposit is sent by Interac transfer within two hours, failing which the slot may be released. Confirmation follows by text.
What is the cancellation policy?
The $85 deposit follows three tiers. With more than 48 hours' notice it is refunded in full, or carried to the new date, as preferred. Between 48 and 24 hours, half is kept. With less than 24 hours' notice, or a no-show, the whole deposit is kept.
A slot cancelled on the day cannot be reassigned: that is the sole reason this policy exists.

Are men accepted?
Yes. Boxer briefs must be worn throughout the treatment.
